South Korea to Help North Korea Restore Forests
Followup to KR posting, "A Green Bulldozer?"
News: "South Korea's new president wants to help rejuvenate North Korea's depleted forests, saying the move would lessen the South's future burden to cut greenhouse gases."
Lee Myung-bak has a good idea here, as this is a win-win situation for both sides of Korea: North Korea would avoid deforestation, South Korea would get carbon credits while aiding North Korea, and Korea as a whole would benefit ultimately for future generations. South Korean civic groups are also engaging in similar projects.
